Hello, I changed my graphics card in the HP Omen from a GeForce 1070 to an AMD 6700 X. Initially, the CPU would start but only displayed an image when the card was positioned sideways; otherwise, the built-in HDMI worked consistently. When I flipped it upright after booting, it would freeze and required a forced shutdown. After some research, I learned applying gentle pressure to the new card before securing screws improved the connection and restored image display. Now, with the tower upright, I get my image again. The 6700 X doesn’t boot past the Omen startup screen consistently; I managed to boot in about half of the attempts. The 1070 boots reliably, having succeeded five times straight. I updated the BIOS while using only the onboard graphics and no card connected. Reinstalling the 6700 X still caused the same hang-up issue with the Omen logo appearing. System details: Intel i7-7700, AMD 6700 X, Windows 10 home, x64, iPM17-TP, 32GB RAM, 2TB M.2 SSD, 1000W Corsair power supply. I’ve tried reseating hardware, updating BIOS, removing and reinstalling the battery, power cables, and the SSD multiple times.
