My new 5080 won't turn on. It turned on at the beginning (30 minutes), played Clair Obscur normally, but after I tried playing MH Wilds, the display turned off while compiling shaders and it never turned back on even after rebooting it. GPU RGB is still on, but no display. I had turned off my iGPU before, so unfortunately, I couldn't see anything even from there.
I tried reseating the GPU as well as unplugging it, but neither worked. I took the power adaptor out, plugged my old 3090 in one of the cables, and it worked perfectly like it always did.
The only thing I can really think of is maybe that I daisy chained the adaptor? I don't think I had 3 PCIe cables, so I made do with what I could and daisy chained one of the cables that came with the PSU. I hope that didn't ruin anything permanently.
Any tips or ideas are appreciated. Thanks for your time!

I would reset CMOS to restore IGPU, reinstall the NVIDIA drivers, and provide an update.

I restored the iGPU and reinstalled the drivers. I also discovered I had an additional PCIe cable and added a third one. I powered on my PC using the displayport in the 5080, which turned on without issues. When I tried to turn it off and back on with the displayport active on the motherboard, it worked fine. I checked both Task and Device Manager, but neither listed the 5080 or the new cable. Only the iGPU appeared. Since I don’t have another PC to test, should I send a return merchandise authorization for the GPU or explore other options? Thank you for your help!

It functioned initially and then ceased to work, indicating the previous card was operational.
RMA is processed.

Before performing an RMA, test the HDMI port and also use another monitor or TV. Additionally, attempt safe mode. If any of these options displays a boot screen, reinstall drivers using the 5080 model instead of another graphics card.

I attempted to use an HDMI cable for my second monitor, but it doesn't function with the 5080 and works with the 3090. Tomorrow I'll receive a replacement from Corsair, and if that fails, I'll return it for repair. Appreciate the assistance!

If it's truly brand new, you might get it back from the place you purchased it for a direct swap, provided they still have it. In any case, I'm in agreement that sending an RMA to the manufacturer would be the right step.

Is there a bio switch on your graphics card? It could really help you save time.

Yeah, if it's under 30 days you might be able to go back to the store where you bought it.
Maybe I'm mistaken, but from what I've seen, parts that are likely to fail because they're defective usually stop working within the first 30 days or so. If not, then they tend to last longer. Sadly in your situation, gpus are costly and hard to find right now. Still, I think things are a bit better than they were a few months ago.

I began discussing the oddities of an iGPU and dGPU configuration. I own an ASUS TUF RTX 5080 paired with a 9800X3D setup. Without the correct handshake, all video from the 5080 disappears. A CMOS reset is necessary. Initially, I had to unplug the 5080. Once it functions properly, there are no further problems. Have you verified the proper alignment of the 12-pin power connector?
