New GPU issue
I've been working on fixing issues for several days and brought my PC to a local repair shop (reputed for good service). After a week, they returned it without any explanation. My system includes an MSI MEG X570 motherboard, a Ryzen 9 5950X processor, and an MSI 850GL PSU. The Trident Z 3600 is running at 32GB (four 8GB modules). I’ve been using a RTX 2060 for short periods, and it functions perfectly with this setup. I decided to upgrade because the RTX 6000 series cards are now available at affordable prices, and I bought a used MSI Gaming Z Trio 6800XT from Amazon. The seller claimed it was in near-new condition, and I noticed no signs of wear on the pins or scratches. After installing the new card and turning the system on, it lit up and the fans started, but there was no display output. I even heard the Windows startup chime, indicating the system was booting. When I tried to power on the old RTX 2060, it worked fine, but then it reported no signal and went back to sleep. I’ve tested all ports—DP and HDMI—and my motherboard/CPU setup doesn’t have built-in graphics. I also tried connecting both cards simultaneously, but again, no display appeared. I’m still within the return window for a full refund via Amazon and am leaning toward that option. However, this specific card is no longer in stock. Any suggestions on what to try next?
I successfully obtained results from the previous setup with both installed. All drivers were updated and confirmed the system recognizes the 6800xt. The amd tool worked properly, but no output appeared. I’m now suspecting a faulty card and plan to look for an alternative at a better price.
