Hello, I changed my RX6600 GPU to an NVIDIA RTX 4060 and am using a Thermaltake 500W power supply. I expected it would suffice but now I see a warning on my motherboard about the APCI Express connector not being connected. After checking several times, it seems to be properly connected even after switching back to the RX6600, and the error disappeared. Should I consider upgrading the PSU? If yes, what options do you suggest?

Congrats on the new GPU! Is it brand new or used? The Thermaltake Smart 500 is a poor PSU and should be replaced either way. What is your budget? MSI's ABN series offers reliable and affordable options, such as the AB550N or AB650N.

Thank you for your question. I haven’t checked the PSU directly, but since you’re experiencing an error with the Corsair RM750, it might be worth verifying the power supply’s condition or consulting the manufacturer’s support resources.

Unusual. This problem hasn't happened before. It might be related to the PSU. The Corsair RM750 is a solid power supply and I strongly suggest using only the RM series in my builds. Is the system not starting when the power cable is connected to the 4060?

It starts up smoothly and the benchmark test with cyberpunk at high resolution worked without issues. Focus on the boot-up errors from the BIOS.

That's unusual. I'd normally just skip it if the system starts properly and the 4060 is available. Still, I wouldn't suggest anyone using the Thermaltake Smart 500.

The thermaltake smart 500 is recognized as a faulty device and needs replacement soon. It seems to be delivering incorrect voltage, which isn't safe for the system, so a better power supply should be acquired. Upgrading to a higher-quality unit is recommended.
