We own a new gigabyte RTX 4090 Aero (or my wife does...)
We possess a Corsair RM1000x. It indicates needing 3 power legs for operation and 4 for overclocking and full card advantages. The PCIe/CPU slots confused me until I discovered it’s the plug that alters the power setting, i.e., PCIe/CPU. I purchased a custom power cable with just 2 male 8-pin connectors to the 16-pin connector. Is it possible to simply buy (2) 1-8 pin female connectors and pair them with two male 8 pins to cover the four leg power?

PSU-4-8 pin male connectors to 2 1-8 pin female connectors, which are then connected to the two male 8 pins on the custom cable leading to the 16-pin GPU connector?
4 to 2/2 to 2/2 to 1
I have a diagram saved in my pictures folder, but I’m unsure how you’d like me to share it—whether via a link or a screenshot?

You may wish to submit your images to Imgur or similar platforms and share the corresponding links in the discussion. Regarding your personalized cables, consider adding references to where you purchased them, together with photos of the cables.

Finally, here's the image to look at. It seems pretty straight forward. Then again I never knew the difference between a PCIe and CPU power connections was one pole. I cant find the 4 to 1 connecter in white this is why all of this crap. I'm not sure why these makers of PSU's haven't put more thought into the cable management for their products and or why there isn't a black and a white option already available in the box considering how much we spend on this stuff (not to mention keeping prices higher now that they know we'll pay the price...everybody trying to retire on their last sale...) Thanks! jmf50!
PS- the white 1 to 2 cable we have. It's the adaptors I'm wondering about handling the load...

So, for everyone's info (even though I'm not supposed to answer my own posts) the whole deal is even though they are all the new 16pin? 12pin power cables they are still proprietory to brands of the PSU. you should always checkout the pinout. They aren't all the same.
