Good morning everyone,
I’ve just switched to Windows 20H2 and am encountering some unusual game problems. With modern security features and COD, the game occasionally pauses about 2-3 times per match, like a sudden lag spike. After resuming, everything works normally—no packet loss or high latency (around 35ms). I can still hear voice chat in real time. This issue seems to be on my end since others I play with aren’t affected.

I reverted to Windows 1909 and everything functions correctly. I also updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version and the Nvidia drivers to 457.51, which was the same as before. It looks like this might be a driver conflict specific to the 20H2 build, as I didn’t have this problem before installing.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions could be really helpful. This is frustrating, especially after investing in a new system.
Thanks!

The only way that could possibly work is if the driver you were using for LAN was extremely poorly written, and even then, it would just make a small difference in performance. I’m not sure this comparison will hold up.

I think there might be driver-related problems as well, given that you're using a new 3000 series GPU and there haven't been many updates yet. If I were in your position, I would check which GPUs others are using and see if any of them without the issue are also on a 3000 series model. I'm skeptical about that.

It seems like you figured it out. I went back to an earlier update on the Ethernet adapter and haven’t run into any problems now. I’m not sure if this was just a coincidence or if it really resolved the issue.
