New fiber optic router model
For a simple extension, add another router. I’ve already purchased an Archer 1750 (TP-Link) to boost coverage and set it up in bridge mode or as an access point.
I’d also prefer a fresh web interface since the current one feels like a “near-terminal” experience—navigating it is frustratingly difficult. The new design looks much more user-friendly, which would help prioritize gaming devices over smart bulbs in terms of response time.
It’s likely you have a modem or it’s linked to an upstream modem. Routers aren’t modems and modems aren’t routers. You probably have a modem somewhere. The most effective approach is to switch your ISP’s router into bridge mode (knowing your ISP and the modem number on your device) and then connect your own faster router.
