Hey everyone, The issue appears while playing games, especially in Lost Ark. It seems mostly due to long play sessions and how often I log in. The main symptom is a total screen freeze—both monitors and the mouse stop working, and pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete (or Ctrl+Shift+Esc) doesn’t help. The computer just hangs until I restart it. The RGB lights on my keyboard still work normally (K70 through iCue), and all audio stays intact. It doesn’t happen every time; sometimes I can play for hours without trouble, other times after just a few minutes.
I tried using a TdrDelay in the Registry Editor via some online tips, but it didn’t fix the problem. Now I notice occasional flickering—thin white noise about an inch thick across the screen, randomly appearing and disappearing quickly. It’s not frequent, but it’s distracting.
This might be related to artifacts. Here’s my setup:
- **Graphics Card:** Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus Wifi RTX 6800XT (brand new)
- **CPU:** Ryzen 7 5800 X3D
- **RAM:** G.SKILL 32GB (2x16GB)
- **GPU:** Ripjaws V Series DDR4 PC4-25600 3200MHz
- **Case:** Fractal R5 with both drives removed for better airflow
- **Cooling:** Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-2000 PWM fans, two intake and exhaust fans
- **Power Supply:** Likely 750W, possibly older BIOS
- **Monitor:** Dual 144Hz monitors (1440p & 1080p)
- **Software:** BIOS XMP set for speed, control panel confirmed
I’ve cleaned up drivers with a DDU and reinstalled everything. No overheating from fans or PSU has been reported. The flickering seems unrelated to performance issues, though I’m still curious. If you have any screenshots or more details about your build, feel free to share!
Recent updates on his profile. @B1GLeo faced comparable problems with his setup for several months, though we couldn't pinpoint the exact cause. A few days back his PSU failed, and the issue appears absent with the new one. The old unit was an FSP Hydro G 750W from 2017.
Interesting points. It seems the latest recommended CPU BIOS isn't the newest version, but it's still considered up-to-date according to ASUS support. My PSU is probably over six years old, yet it's working fine for me. I'm thinking about getting a SeaSonic 850W Platinum, but I've already spent some on other components. I'll have to wait until my paychecks come in before making a decision.
