You're puzzled about the unexpected high BUS speed readings. It seems the controller and fans are interfering with the bus signal, possibly due to incorrect configuration or interference. I've checked your settings and hardware connections, but the issue persists. The processor's high clock speeds don't match the reported bus speed, which is confusing. Trying a fresh BIOS reset and default settings might help clarify the problem. Checking for other sources of interference could also be useful.
This happens regardless of whether the fan hub is connected. The default options actually made things worse, showing a bus speed of 207 and CPU usage at 8+ghz.
Uninstall and reinstall CPU-Z. Also, run Cinebench to check its performance relative to other 7820X models.
I've attempted a new CPU installation and other tools like hwmonitor are still displaying incorrect clock readings. The only tool that accurately reflects the expected CPU speed is Intel's CPU diagnostic, which at default settings showed 3.6 GHz. I'm currently testing Cinebench and will update this post with the findings soon. Meanwhile, I re-applied my usual overclock settings, but the bus remained at 207.66 instead of returning to 142.1. I'm starting to suspect the motherboard might be failing, given the Cinebench r23 score of 10,200—about 1,000 below what I expect for a 4.5 GHz overclock. Edited October 4, 2021 by Jerichoatomic
