New Edge app made old Internet Explorer settings break again
I just got a new update from Microsoft called Version 100.0.1185.29 for my Edge browser. I usually use sites that need old Internet Explorer features, so I have to turn on compatibility mode in the settings under "Default browser." You can add sites there by clicking Add and picking your favorite page. Then when you open that site again, it uses an IE version instead of the new one. This works fine for now, BUT something broke with my update: the list of sites that need to be compatible is not staying on screen anymore. Every time I close Edge, those pages disappear from the list. It used to stay there until a few days ago. I think Microsoft made a mistake here. Has anyone else seen this problem? Did they tell Microsoft about it? Any other tricks to fix this? (Now Edge shows an icon to switch between tabs for IE and normal mode, but that should not be needed anymore.) Thanks!
It only worked on my computer with Windows 11, but someone else tried it on their Windows 10 machine and got the same thing. No big surprise because browsers are usually where this happens, not just the operating system. I wasn't even sure how to give feedback since that was pretty useless anyway compared to writing a letter to the president hoping they notice me personally. But maybe it's worth trying at least once?
