Hello everyone, I’m using an MSI B150A Gaming Pro with an Intel i5 6500. I recently considered upgrading and grabbed a deal during Black Friday for a new CPU. I just installed an Intel i5 9600K but the system only boots for a brief moment before shutting down. When I switched back to my original CPU, everything functioned properly. Did I mess up by skipping some research or is something wrong with my setup? Best regards.

The 9600k model doesn't fit with the B150 motherboard. A 300 series board is needed for proper operation.

These CPUs from the 8000 and 9000 lines aren't compatible with boards built for the 6000 and 7000 series (those using a 100 or 200 chipset). You'll need a board with a 300 chipset.
