Hi there. I'm considering a new CPU and motherboard and am unsure whether to choose Intel or AMD. Should I wait for the Ryzen 5000 series or newer Intel chips? I already own a Noctua NH-L9i and was planning an i7-10700, but it's locked as I want to avoid exceeding 65W without a new cooler. Here are my current specs from the link you shared. I don’t have a functional gaming PC right now, so I’m thinking about a B550 or X370 board with a Ryzen 3100 for now, since even that’s an upgrade over my old setup. My budget is around £300 for CPU and motherboard, though I can go higher if needed. I’ll only be playing games, no editing or anything else. Thanks, Ben.
For gaming, in 2060 the CPU won't have a major impact. A 3600 should suffice, and moving to the 5600X likely isn't necessary here.
