The latest BIOS version highlighted better performance for the CPU I upgraded to, but I tend to rely on the maker’s claims for such details. Since I usually refresh my PC every five to ten years, it seems technology has definitely evolved.
If the CPU performs identically to others in tests, ignore the manufacturer's claims.
I haven't performed any performance tests with the latest processor. I just added it following a BIOS update.
The issue arises when they claim better performance without providing specific details. It might refer to marginally improved RAM stability with recent BIOS releases, or other metrics that aren't clearly explained. When manufacturers mention such gains, especially on older platforms, the improvements are usually minimal—often just 1 to 2% in certain cases—and may not be noticeable in everyday use. Typically, significant performance boosts from BIOS updates aren't widely reported unless they're substantial.
