I assume when I purchase an item, it will function properly. That's what every buyer expects. No one buys something without expecting it to work immediately. Surprising, isn't it? I believe each PSU produced should undergo testing in the factory. This isn't unreasonable.
Honestly? That’s an unrealistic request. Also, things can go wrong with shipping and other issues. Just because it worked in testing two to four months ago doesn’t guarantee it will function after installation. Welcome to reality. Occasionally items arrive damaged. It’s frustrating, but handle the return process and keep going.
You're right, the PSU is not great. And returns usually aren't that fast.
It's worse when the power supply fails completely rather than just malfunctioning.
Many NZXT power supplies come from CWT (Channel Well Technology), just like your Corsair RM850x.
I wasn't aware of that. But unless MicroCenter reacts negatively to my refund or exchange, Corsair still had a chance. Unfortunately, they didn't.
