New computer, new issues 😩
Hey there, so this setup has its own unique vibe. I haven’t found much guidance for this issue, but I’m trying to understand what’s going on. Recently, I assembled my first gaming PC and was really excited when it started working smoothly—until something went wrong. I used a Windows key I bought online at a discounted price, though I’m not sure if that’s the core problem. The main issue seems to be that after the PC stopped booting, it would refuse to start unless I kept the same USB drive used for installing Windows during boot. That’s odd. Sometimes it won’t even boot unless I disconnect one of my monitor cables and reconnect it. I’m really stuck and don’t know where to look for help. I can’t visit a local shop for a check-up, I’ve restarted the whole system, tried running some commands to remove the license key and reinstalling Windows, but nothing worked. I was considering swapping the drive with another SSD to fix it, but I’m not sure if that’s the problem or just a symptom. Also, any changes I make to the BIOS don’t seem to affect the Boot Menu or Fan Control settings. If anyone has any tips or resources, it would be a huge help. Thanks a lot.
Best regards,
Your Truly
Confirm your setup thoroughly. Provide a complete list of all hardware components with detailed descriptions. Include screenshots from your BIOS settings and recordings of the system malfunctioning. Specify the exact Windows 10 version you're using, along with any driver installations and their sources.
My system setup includes a Ryzen 9 5900x processor, a GIGABYTE RTX 3070 graphics card, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM at 3200CL16 DDR4, a Samsung 980 PCIe Gen 3 M.2 drive, and an ASUS TUF B550-PLUS laptop. I'm using Windows 10 Pro after a fresh installation, and the drivers haven't been updated recently. The PC functions normally and boots without issues, but I can't share videos due to large file sizes. It displays and connects devices, yet the monitor stays blank with no logo or boot sequence.
According to @Marcus E, have you updated the BIOS? Are you performing any overclocking or applying an XMP profile to your RAM?
Just returned from work, but I’m still figuring things out. If you can help clarify a bit, that would be great. I’m using the D.O.C.P Profile (XMP for Ryzen MBs).
Disable XMP, reset all BIOS configurations to default levels. Refer to the tutorial video and provide updates.
