It's really enjoyable. Likely one of the top shooters since 2017 with a strong fallout feel too.

Obtain the assets from reputable channels to ensure financial backing for the team. Acquiring keys through unofficial means probably harms the creators even more than illegal copies.

It seems unlikely that the publisher received payment for the keys while developers took their share. In piracy, no one is compensated during the game period.

They’re mainly promotional codes for free when purchasing a graphics card, meaning developers have already earned their revenue.

Yes, some items were available in other regions with significantly reduced prices compared to North America.

If you don’t care it doesn’t really matter. I’m unfamiliar with CDkeys, but I’ve tried kinguin for a few games and their support is quick and responsive when issues arise. Some keys come from gray markets and may involve stolen credit card information, along with fraud concerns.

Typically, purchases on the grey market involve stolen credit cards. When the card issuer blocks access, it’s too late—the thief already possesses the game keys. Since such transactions are illegal, sellers seldom receive payment. Gamers often acquire these keys and play the games. Developers are compelled to allow players to use their servers, which incur costs, so enabling gray market usage can be more costly than outright piracy. They must maintain servers and provide support, draining resources while pirates incur no expense. In the long run, legitimate sources might eventually profit from selling keys, whereas piracy offers no such benefit.

@huilun02 The issue is clear: if developers could enforce this, they’d likely stop issuing keys altogether. Constant revocation risks angering users and sparking online backlash. People tend to overlook minor losses when negative publicity looms. It’s easier for companies to accept the fallout than to defend their reputation.

CDKeys works well as a distributor, not a marketplace like G2A or Kinguin. The keys you receive are directly from CDKeys, not from criminals. They've been operating for a few years, and I haven't encountered any negative experiences with them. Many of my friends also rely on them, and every time it's been smooth and reliable.
