New Build- NO POWER
New Build- NO POWER
Hello everyone,
I began assembling a PC from used components a few weeks ago, but it hasn’t started functioning properly.
The system details can be viewed here: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Bele4/saved/#view=YPpTmG
It shows no power (only 1.5W after the PSU is turned on). Of course:
- No MOBO LED, no beep, no fan running – nothing at all.
What I have tried so far:
1. Plugged and unplugged the system several times.
2. Tested the power cable and replaced it; it works now.
3. Checked the PSU with a multimeter – voltages appeared normal.
4. The PSU seems to be in good condition.
5. The motherboard looks intact; I don’t see any damage or burn marks.
I’m not sure about the motherboard BIOS – maybe it needs an upgrade (it probably requires a 3-gen AM4).
But could it be possible not to update it at all?
Yes, it won’t run, but at least it’s drawing some power and possibly running a fan.
The PSU fan didn’t spin up either (it did during the multimeter test).
Thank you.
I checked it without using a case and power button. The issue persists even when it's in case mode. I connected the cables as per the manual at that time... When I pressed the case button, there was no response.
Are the 24-pin and 8-pin connectors properly linked? They are positioned in different areas of the board.
Attempt to link only the power button leads and the two power connectors to determine if it initiates the desired response. Ensure no other devices are connected to the power source during testing.
The initial reaction would likely be a dead motherboard. You might attempt the paperclip test on the power supply.
