Hi everyone, I just put together a new system yesterday (9800X3D + RX9070XT + Artic Liquid Freezer III 360 AIO).
At idle the CPU temperature is about 48°C, but my room feels like an oven right now—no air conditioning, just under the roof.
When I started playing Arma Reforger, I didn’t overclock anything; everything was set to Ultra and it’s averaging around 80fps on a 1440 resolution. That’s a big jump from my old build (i7 + RTX2070ti) which averaged about 35fps with most settings low or average.
I noticed something odd though—the CPU load stayed very low, around 25%, and rarely reached its boost clock of 5.2Ghz, instead staying at a base speed of 4.7Ghz. The temperature never went above 60°C.
It gives me the impression that the CPU was doing almost nothing during the game. Is this normal for such a setup? Are these numbers typical?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! I just put together a fresh setup yesterday (9800X3D + RX9070XT + Artic Liquid Freezer III 360 AIO). When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's important to provide detailed information about your system. Please list the specifications as follows: CPU, CPU cooler, Motherboard, RAM, SSD/HDD, GPU, PSU, Chassis, OS, Monitor. Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this time. This build is a significant upgrade from my previous one (i7 + RTX2070ti). Were any components reused from the older setup? Did you run benchmarks on the new system? Have you tested other games on it?

The CPU will be busy and require more power based on the game or program, as it cannot be uniform everywhere. Usually, higher resolution and finer details mean the GPU must perform more tasks, while the CPU manages the actions and tells the GPU exactly what to show.
