New Build is experiencing some display problems?
Hello!
I just built a brand new PC and I am having some issues involving the Display.
Problem: I was having screen freezing and lock up issues where everything would stop and then my monitor would go dark when left idle. NEver from out of sleep mode only when just left alone and open. I understand this was happening to some other NVIDIA cards so following this thread
(Here)
I changed my NVIDIA to performance mode. I have not had the same issue but now other things are popping up and im afraid to test it further. The new issue is im simply watching Netflix and there are black squares appearing over a majority of the video and even in some instances it just blinks black and returns. Any help on understanding whats happening and getting this machine back up to full speed would be great.
Before changing to performance mode I was able to play games like ghost of Tsushima and Baldurs gate without any issues at their maximum allowed settings. I have yet to perform a new test playing those games to see if there were any persistent issues.
Is this a Netflix Issue?
Is this a GPU Issue?
Power?

UPDATE!
The freezing crash thing just happened. I was just idle watching a show in a browser and everything stopped. The screen remained still there was no mouse movement I could not Ctrl Alt Delete. The thing I found interesting is that the fans are still spinning BUT the digital image on the ROG cooler was also frozen most likely because its controlled through armoury crate which stopped working. Im assuming

Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Have you installed the OS in offline mode? If not, remove all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD and Nvidia) using DDU, then reinstall manually with the latest driver from Nvidia's support site. Open the installer, right-click it, and select Run as Administrator. Your motherboard's BIOS version is also being checked for you.
Update! The freezing crash just occurred. I was merely browsing a show in a browser and everything froze. The screen stayed blank with no mouse movement; I couldn’t use Ctrl Alt Delete. Notably, the fans kept spinning, but the digital image on the ROG cooler was also stuck, probably because its control system failed. Im assuming...
I've refreshed the chipset driver but never updated the BIOS, as I literally assembled this PC last week. When I built the system last week, I made sure to install the drivers for everything, but I'm unsure what the BIOS update would be or how to proceed.
I just installed the Intel one today and will keep an eye on any developments there.
I was part of the original discussion you referenced. Intel is facing a broad problem where Z790 motherboards have BIOS versions set to overclock by default, even when just optimized settings are applied. Asus, MSI, Gigabyte were all impacted, with ASRock being more affected. Several well-known YouTubers revealed the incorrect BIOS configurations that increased heat and voltage, leading to crashes and freezing issues. This situation pushed Intel to require motherboard manufacturers to implement genuine stock BIOS voltage and power handling features in some new updates. Consider exploring this option after trying other technical solutions.
Additional problems are increasing and I would value any feedback. Now the ASUS ROG RYUO III 360 ARGB is not displaying an image anymore. Instead, it shows a picture on the unit connected to the CPU, which means the animation is no longer visible. The only positive update is that the BIOS indicates the radiator is still functioning. However, things appear to be worsening each day.
It has been consistently crashing or freezing over the past week, but only today did it occur while I was actively using it. The problem mainly appears when I’m not operating the machine. Recently, while browning a folder, my music stopped, and the lights on my keyboard and microphone ceased to function. The screen remained on, displaying the work I had done, but showed no movement of the mouse or any interaction. All case lighting and fans stayed on. My microphone was responsive enough to hear the cueing, but the lights stayed off. I’m still unsure if anything is functioning properly.
