my first build:
2x16gb corsair vengeance ddr5
aorus b650 elite ax
amd 7 7700x
asrock phantom gaming 7900xtx
i crash every time i boot up, and it's a gamble as to whether or not i'll even be able to use it; 90% of the time, if i get past login, i go unresponsive and bsod.
i thought it was a ram issue, as i had (mistakenly) installed 4 sticks of ddr5 before realizing that was causing problems, so i took them out, but i was still having crashes. i did a clean reinstall of windows and that seemed to fix a lot of the issues initially.
unfortunately, it's not any better now. i tried another clean reinstall, bios/cmos reset, checking my connections, windows memory test, and nothing raised any issues. my temps/memory usage aren't any sort of issue in the handful of times i've actually been able to use my system at all.
i have no idea how to diagnose whatever issue i'm having at all. it seems like any suggestions are all to reset cmos and do a memory test, so i don't know what to do from this point.
what do i need to do to figure out what's wrong with my build?

You purchased two 32GB kits, possibly mixing different sets. Consider using just one stick to eliminate that risk. If the device functions well, identify the part number of the set and use those parts. Update the BIOS accordingly. Testing memory would provide a more accurate boot with memtest64, though it takes longer than Windows diagnostics.

If the device functions well, identify the part number of the set and use those parts. Update the BIOS accordingly. Yeah, I first bought two sets of 32 (2x16) DDR5 RAM. But after finding problems with four sticks, I ended up using only one set. I have a Corsair RM1000X and a Western Digital Black 2TB SSD. I think I updated the BIOS, but I'm not sure if that helped. I'm really new to this and don't know how to check if I have the latest version. I'll definitely run MemTest for extra peace of mind. Now I just need to figure out the next steps, lol.

Unless ram was bought in the same packaging then they not the same, that's why i said to only use ram that was from the same packaging. It's 50/50 chance now getting the right pairing if can't identify which set belongs to which. Try a single stick to see if it is a pairing issue or not. It's the materials and IC chips that often change and Corsair isn't one to reliably be consistent. For ram, Gskill are leaps and bounds above, especially in QC.
There are youtube tutorials how to setup usb memtest.

If that doesn’t work, the first kit should be in slots 2 and 4—the exact pair your manual specifies. Make sure the motherboard initializes this memory first. Don’t worry if it doesn’t turn on immediately; it might restart once, which is normal. Also, ensure the BIOS is up to date, as some Corsair RAM needs a BIOS update for proper function with certain motherboards.

oh yeah, sorry I got the message wrong.
i did a memtest86 overnight and it worked without any errors.
i also updated the bios, but it stopped during the first boot.
now it's running fine, so i'll just have to watch how it performs.

Thanks, I just installed a BIOS update and it looks like it improved things. My sticks are still in slots 2 and 4, we'll check again later to see if it continues to work.

Ensure your Windows installation media is up-to-date before performing another fresh install. I had an outdated Windows 10 setup for my 6700k, which I used before switching to a 3700x. It caused a BSOD and crashes. After updating to the latest version, all issues resolved.

it should function properly in slots 2 and 4.
switching the other RAM to slots 1 and 3 causes failure, indicating incompatibility.
