It's been nearly nine years since my initial forum post seeking build guidance, and now this PC is at its peak performance. I'm re-entering the market with these draft specifications:

I need a component that supports 1440p games while maintaining 60fps. Staying close to the 1200e price range would be ideal, but I'm open to increasing it if it meets those needs.

500GB used to be a massive amount of storage back in 2015, but it's not the same now. 😂
500GB of storage isn't very much nowadays, and most people prefer using an M.2 drive to skip cables. A lot of us would install two 16GB RAM modules just in case upgrades become necessary.
Check this site for reduced costs.

This feedback is very helpful.
I don’t think I need the additional storage, but after checking the performance boost of m.2 I’m convinced.
The 32gb of RAM seems a bit much, but the low cost makes it worth it.
I won’t be changing anything else except the motherboard, since my current setup requires a digital optical output.
