New Asrock Phantom Gaming 4 X570 runs smoothly with a 5600X and handles 3200G without issues.
Hello everyone, I recently acquired a refurbished Asrock Phantom Gaming 4 X570 motherboard to replace my old Asus Prime B450M-A for a second system. After swapping everything, the board won’t boot with the CPU installed. It shows the CPU and memory indicators but powers up briefly before shutting off and restarting immediately. There’s no display output from the GTX1060. When I reused my 3200G inside it (removed from its case and tested with an old Enermax 400W PSU and stock cooler), it worked fine, even booting Windows. The BIOS was up to date. Later, when I swapped in the 5600X and GPU, it continued functioning normally. After replacing the two RAM sticks with a single 8GB Crucial RAM at 2666MHz, the same problem occurred. Removing the GPU (trying to post without any display) still caused the issue. I attempted to reset CMOS by turning off the board and holding a screwdriver on the jumpers for three seconds, but it didn’t help. The only change from my previous setup was the motherboard itself; all other parts seemed to be fine. Anyone have suggestions? I’m avoiding frequent CPU swaps to save thermal paste. Specs: Windows 10 Pro 64bit, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, ASRock Phantom Gaming 4 X570 cooler, MasterLiquid ML360L V2 ARGB, Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3600mhz, Gigabyte GTX1060 6GB, Kingston A2000 1TB NVMe SSD, Crucial MX500 2TB SATA SSD, Cooler Master MWE Bronze 450W. Thanks, Dark_Llama
Tried all parts back on the original motherboard, 5600X is still functioning so it hasn’t been damaged yet – nice! Updated the BIOS to the same version they had, but it didn’t fix anything. Feeling a bit stuck, not sure what next troubleshooting steps to take...
