Problem: RGB malfunction with ARGB fans. The fans spin correctly when connected in a chain but fail to light up. ARGB connections are linked together and tied to the ARGB 5v header (I confirmed the correct header). If only one fan is directly connected to the ARGB header, it lights up solid red or yellow yet remains invisible in Asus' Armory Crate software and doesn't react to any color changes in the system. This issue repeats with all three fans when connected individually—RGB turns on but isn’t detected by the software. Attempts to fix include rearranging the daisy chain, testing single fan connections, changing order, and resetting BIOS settings. OS is Windows 11 x64; RAM is 32GB DDR4 Corsair, PSU is 850W, RTX 3080 graphics card. Specs indicate no overload on power supply or individual headers. The fans in question are Arctic P12 ARGB units, same model as here: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FQ6p99/...cfan00232a. Location: Vancouver, Canada. I searched Reddit and other forums but found little relevant help; most results lack the exact setup or didn’t involve the ARGB header properly.
Are there additional 3-pin 5V Argb gadgets you can connect to the motherboard port for testing?
It seems you're trying to connect your fans to the ARGB header using a daisy chain. That sounds like a creative approach—let me know if you need help setting it up!
Tested the fans on my partner's machine—they function perfectly with RGB settings. It seems the ARGB header isn’t working properly. Should I look into purchasing a new ARGB controller, or would it be worth considering a replacement? I’d be willing to cover the cost, though Asus warranty in Canada usually takes three weeks or more for Mobo devices, which is too long for my needs.
