New AMD gaming system
New AMD gaming system
I already have several components from my current build as indicated in the list below. I’m aiming to keep the total near $1000 USD. I plan to purchase more in the next couple of weeks. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. I’m flexible with the CPU if the 9800X3D isn’t available.
Location: California, US.
Device purpose: Strictly gaming-focused. Upgrading from my R9 3900x. No specific retailer preference.

Alternative setup uses a single 2x32GB memory module instead of four sticks; slim probability of fitting four 16GB DIMMs at 6000MT/s. Otherwise, consider one of the genuine 4x16GB kits, typically offering up to 5600MT/s.
The PSU is somewhat expensive. A 1200W Thermaltake model provides a better fit.
What age is your AIO? Do you have the AM4/AM5 socket?
Made some minor changes. Agree on 2x32gb vs 4x16gb for ram. I chose a B850 board, which won't have to worry about bios updates, to work with a 9800x3d. Changed the PSU as well.

This board inspires me to go for a fully chrome and silver finish.
Hey, that color choice is pretty cool though

I’m going with two sticks—either 32 or 64. Do I actually need a 1200 watt power supply?
Yes… the Corsair H100 in my setup comes from an earlier version.
Improving power consumption for better efficiency on the PSU's curve. PSUs tend to be least efficient at the lowest 15% of their capacity, which is what you're likely aware of. For example, a 1000w PSU would mean 150w being a fairly efficient use, with 15% of 1200w equaling 180w. The only minor concern here.
I'd choose to pay the extra 30 and get this PSU. It's a top-of-the-line platinum model at 1kw.
