Hi,
I built a new system today:
Mobo - ASUS PRIME X670E-PRO Wifi
CPU - 7950x
GPU - 4090 Supreme
RAM - Corsair Vengance DDR5 x 2 16Gbs 6000Mhz.
AIO - NZXT Z73
PSU - HX1200 (1200W)
I checked everything from all sides, but the system won’t power on. When I switch the PSU on, the lights come up, but pressing the power button doesn’t work. The motherboard LED display with RGB changes but nothing happens afterward.
I’ve tried another PSU, Corsair 850W, and the same issue persists. I double-checked all connections, still no result.
Here’s a picture of the lights turning on in the motherboard:

Any suggestions?

Consider beginning by eliminating the GPU and attempting to restart it. Proceed with one DIMM at a time.

Thanks, I've already tried, but I believe the issue could be that the AIO isn't capturing the fans properly, which might prevent the CPU from booting. I'm planning to swap in the original fans and see if it works.

I’ve begun fresh again but the issue remains unchanged. Pressing the power button on the motherboard produces no response, and a loud clicking sound comes from the PSU. Even with a functional PSU, the same behavior occurs. Could there be another solution? I’m beginning to suspect the motherboard might be dead.

It could be a faulty motherboard – but it's worth testing another CPU first.
Unless you're ready, disconnect all components except the PSU power cables (24 pin and CPU PCIe power), the CPU, cooler, and one DIMM. This also means no case power button to boot the system.
If that fails, swap the DIMM and its socket.
As a final option, remove the motherboard from the case – this has happened before because of a loose riser connection.

Hi,
I’ve disconnected everything except the cooler, DIM, and CPU, but nothing works. I’ve tested all DIM settings, flashed the BIOS, and reset the CMOS, yet it still doesn’t connect. I’ve now re-packaged and will return tomorrow. I’ve ordered more RAM and a new MOBO, and I’m hoping to try again next week.

I also attempted to install my AMD 5800x in the motherboard, but it won’t fit—it doesn’t support the AM5 socket for the 5000 chipset.

Thanks for the help.

Willow_123 asks about the presence of an on/off switch inside the power supply unit. Some PSUs include such a button that must be activated before use. Additionally, setting the plastic pin connector on the CMOS reset pins can prevent the motherboard from booting, even after removal.

You are absolutely certain the CPU power is connected to the top left area of the motherboard?

Have you figured this out? I’m working on a new system and encountering the same problem again. I’ve already ruled out the board as the issue and checked for any changes. Now I’m about to replace the CPU, having tested everything in various ways, but it still won’t power up.
