So my tomb raider experience is awful. I'm locked in at 60hz, even in benchmarks. But there's this weird juddering going on, like the game is having these quick loading pauses where it freezes up for two or three frames every few seconds, particularly during camera movements. It's really annoying. I'm playing with the game at: 1050 x 1680 max quality settings including hair smaa instead of ssaa Triple buffer v-sync 1050p 60hz monitor Specs: 4670k @ 4.4 Ghz rock solid stable for years 780ti @ 1200 mhz (Memory maxed out but I read this game engine will always max your v-memory out) 8gb ram (Not maxed) Game is loading off dual WB Black 1tb raid 0 Any ideas?

Install MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner. Monitor CPU usage per core, temperature, GPU activity, speed, VRAM and temperature. Check GPU utilization, memory, RAM, page file status, and frame rate. Observe these metrics over several minutes across different tasks.

GPU operates at full capacity consistently, maintaining 1200 MHz and utilizing 3 GB of VRAM continuously. Temperature stays between 60-65°C. CPU fluctuates between 60-100% usage, with performance varying evenly across all four cores. RAM usage ranges from 6 to 8 GB, causing page file activity between 8 and 15 GB. Frame rate remains steady at 60 frames per second. It seems the issue likely lies with the CPU or RAM.

It seems Vsync is active in the game or the GeForce Experience settings are enforcing it. The ROTTR reaches about 4.5 to 5 GB of VRAM on your 480 model.

It might be the CPU, though the GPU and RAM are more probable culprits. The RAID 0 configuration could also be contributing to the problem.

GPU would be the optimal option because it impacts all games. RAM needs to be delayed until DDR3 prices recover again, which might not happen unless you find quality parts on eBay.

Certainly, but the issue with screen tearing is more severe than this. I wonder if this problem will disappear.
