Hey everyone, I recently upgraded to a 32GB 2 stick GSkill TrindentZNeo 3600 CL16 RAM. On my system it reports 2133Mhz according to Task Manager, while CPU-Z lists the DRAM frequency as 1066Mhz. My PC specs show a motherboard safe speed of around 3466Mhz, but I'm still stuck at 2133Mhz. I've tried adjusting the BIOS memory multiplier to match the correct setting, but it doesn't help. The XMP profile was used without success either. The System Information viewer confirms the maximum bandwidth is 1066Mhz. I've checked all connections and settings, including using DDR_1/DDR_2 slots as described in the manual. I've also updated the BIOS to the latest version, but nothing seems to work. Anyone have any suggestions or alternatives?
AMD's specifications indicate a maximum of 2933, but searches suggest many can reach 3200. Achieving that would likely require exceptional luck with the chips. Consider aiming for 3200 instead.
I also attempted a 3200 MHz (32x multiplier) setting, but it didn’t work—still stuck at 2133 MHz. I checked every higher frequency and got no success. I reset the BIOS to defaults and re-enabled XMP, which briefly showed 3600 MHz when activated, but then the system entered a restarting loop and wouldn’t power back up until I manually shut it down and restarted again. Here are my CPU-Z memory and SPD results if you need them.
Adjusting it to 2933 resolved the issue without restarting. Any changes cause crashes or slowdowns to 2133, so I’ll keep that setting. Appreciate the assistance!
