New 1080 items featuring excellent frame rates
Hi just purchased a new 1080 and observed artifacts during the WoW login and character screens. I didn’t see them once I started playing or in any other game so far. I attempted underclocking, adjusted voltage, turned on Vsync, and even enabled max FPS 200 via GPU overclocking, but the artifacts persisted. I also used fraps and noticed 1000 FPS without Vsync or FPS limits, which makes me wonder if the card is faulty or if the high FPS itself is causing the issues. Should a regular card handle such high FPS? Also, I’ve tried Furmark, OCCT, Unigine Heaven, and Firestrike, but none of them showed artifacts with stock clocks.
EDIT: I posted a thread on Battle.net forums and saw similar reports from someone complaining about performance issues in 1070 and 1080 games. It seems my card might be fine, but perhaps the extreme FPS or the game itself is the problem.
It seems you're inquiring about the PSU specifications. Could you provide more details or clarify your question?
if you're not experiencing the same issue elsewhere then it might be related to the game or in-game settings. also, running at 1kfps could be causing excessive refreshes that are generating these artifacts. by the way, you don't need anything near 1kfps—just adding more work to the GPU without any real improvement.
It seems like a driver-related problem. Curious about your full system details, including the PSU make and model.

My specs are as follows: I have an old Corsair HX 750W 80+ Silver PSU.
I plan to downgrade drivers to check if it improves performance, but it appears the issue might be tied to the 1000 FPS from the game. No artifacts appear in other games or stress tests when pushing the GPU to its limit.
