Net-tools isn’t available, so it just guides you to install it, but I can’t help with that since I don’t have internet access.

I haven't worked with 17.04 or the desktop edition of Ubuntu recently. It looks like net-tools were omitted during the 17.04 installation by default. You might try using "ip addr" instead. Alternatively, consider installing a different distribution.
