I’m facing issues with sharing my internet connection via laptop or mobile. On my laptop, I can connect to my PS4 using a wired link, which is more reliable than wireless, but recently this isn’t working. The PS4 gets an IP address and connects, yet there’s no internet access. When I use a mobile hotspot, both my laptop and PS4 join the connection, but still nothing happens. I’ve tried bridging the link between them, but it keeps dropping every 20-25 minutes for about 30 seconds with no internet on either device. I switched to another laptop that supports WiFi6, yet the same problem persists. The router is a TP-Link TL-WR940N with cable internet.
Your PS4 DNS is configured to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4, yet you're able to adjust it on your router as well.
I adjusted the DNS in your router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, yet the problem persisted. The connection remains unchanged, and sharing internet is still unavailable.
The laptop can establish and maintain a wireless connection nearby the PS4 on its own. The required signal strength and speed depend on the environment. Even with a theoretical limit of 450Mbps, the TL-WR940N needs channel bonding and ideal 2.4GHz conditions to reach it. Since 2.4GHz is already crowded, consider conducting a wireless survey and sharing the channel analysis for that frequency in your area.
