Networking Issue
I recently changed my firewall configuration and now my regular internet connection isn’t working properly. It keeps switching between connecting and disconnecting. When I switch to the 5GHz Wi-Fi, it works for a short time but drops off after a couple of hours.
the computer manages itself, i attempted to link with my xbox for playing state of decay together, but a block in my firewall prevented it. i reset it to the default configuration and it worked initially, however after leaving the machine it stopped connecting to the network.
If you're running a recent Windows version like 7 or 10, you might restore your system to a previous state using a restore point. Then adjust your firewall settings from that point to resolve blocking issues. Keep your vital files elsewhere—such as another drive or NAS—to ensure you can recover them if needed after restoration. This approach may differ depending on your operating system. There are alternative solutions available, but we need to identify the exact cause before attempting a restore. Before reverting to an earlier working state, try disabling the firewall completely and check connectivity; if it works, you won’t need a restore and could install a different firewall. Be aware of potential compatibility problems between your firewall and other network devices—make sure your networking gear is up to date and your drivers are current.
