Networking Blues.....

Hey there, Folks, I spent the whole day checking what the web says. But I’m having trouble getting my two computers to connect. The Tower PC runs Windows 10 Pro, and the Laptop is set to Windows 10 Home. Could that be the issue? Should I install Windows 10 Pro on the Laptop as well? Thanks. Bart

They mentioned networking separately from remote desktop. The original post didn’t reference a remote desktop setup.

They are linked through various methods such as Ethernet cables, switches, routers, or crossover cables. Both may connect to a Wi-Fi access point or an ISP-issued wireless router.

Both devices are connected to the same Ethernet network. In File Explorer, you can view them, but you still receive connection issues. Bart

Accept private sharing. Allow file exchanges. Refuse accounts requiring passwords.

Update the passwords for the accounts. Run netplwiz to automatically log you in. I also have a special user named “1” with the password “1” for quick access. Not very safe, though
