Ensure both devices are linked using only 2.5 gbps network cards. Likely the data flows from your 2.5Gbps card through the switch, which then directs it to a 1Gbps port. A straightforward approach is assigning private IP addresses (e.g., 10.x.x or 172.16.x.1) to your 2.5Gbps cards and setting higher priority for that route.

Both devices are linked straight to the 2.5Gbp router. The sole additional device attached to that router is my bigger 24-port 1Gbp switch, which handles the rest of my setup. I placed the identical NIC on both machines, and they both confirm a connection at 2.5Gbp.

Sure, he could also link the two devices using P2P and 1Gb to the rest of the network. It's a decent approach given he has the switch, and it should function immediately.

Attempted to assign static IPs and connected only the two devices to the switch. Also tried adjusting the 2.5Gbp connection in advanced settings. Copying data didn’t resolve the issue.

Only the Ethernet cable is connected to the PC's right side. It connects just to the 2.5Gb NIC, not the internal 1Gb port. Would you like me to restart all three devices at once?

I should note that I didn't install drivers. I simply used the Windows versions that came with the system. I'll try using the CD drivers to check if it helps.

Initially, the driver CD with the NICS came with faulty drivers. I visited Realtek's site and installed their official "Realtek Auto detect and update" driver. After applying it on both systems, performance improved significantly. Thanks for your Time FloRolf. Now I understand how to use Iperf.
