Network speed is slow, currently reading 800mbps but not exceeding 72% utilization
I just upgraded my home network after getting a Synology ds1522+ for video editing. I was thrilled to use the full 800 Mbps from Xfinity. After setting it up, I noticed my downloads consistently exceeded 72 Mbps—TestMy.net reached 923 Mbps in one test. My download speeds were: WeTransfer 18 Mbps, Google Drive 69 Mbps, Steam 79 Mbps. My setup includes a NETGEAR Nighthawk 32x8, Cat6 wiring, and a Google Wi-Fi router connected to an unmanaged GS308 switch. I’m a bit puzzled about the speed differences. Any advice?
800mb equals approximately 100MB; including variations, bandwidth limits and errors around 80MB/s seem reasonable.
