I recently transferred my laptop to a friend, a Lenovo Y50-70 Touch with an i7 4th Gen processor, GTX 860M, and Windows 10. The Wi-Fi connection at home never dropped, even when the router was nearby. However, my friend is experiencing intermittent issues despite being close to the router. We reinstalled drivers multiple times but the problem persisted. Connecting via mobile data hotspot worked fine. My initial guess was a router fault, though other devices connected without trouble and we used a USB Wi-Fi adapter on the laptop without issues. It seems there might be something specific about how the laptop and router interact. I hope someone can help identify the cause. We agreed to give him a USB Wi-Fi adapter for testing. I regret selling something with potential problems to a good friend. Thank you for your response.

Did you verify the internal Wi-Fi module and any external antennas are functioning properly?

I did that also. The WiFi card uses two wires, with one secured on the SSD (which was attached to the HDD before, but I switched to an SSD a year ago) and the other on the battery. It might be the one on the HDD that strengthens the signal because of the metal part, though it feels odd since the laptop connects fine when we activate the mobile hotspot.
