I recently purchased a tp-link 8 port switch but it isn’t functioning properly. I have a cat6 cable connecting my router, which splits into four computers. Often the devices don’t recognize the connection at all, or if they do, it’s unstable—switching on and off. My router is a Huawei model.

Have you tested various cables? It might simply be a faulty switch.

Ensure the switch is powered and the connected outlet is active. Check that the computer functions properly when connected straight to the router.

Wires are perfectly fine. They function effectively when linked straight from the router.

Is this a managed or unmanaged switch? Can you post the full model or a link to the switch?

At that specific moment it identifies the link as unrecognized with no internet access.

The information came from a review of your query. Windows is the platform. The Hauwei device functions as an internet gateway. The make and model are not specified in your message. You mentioned fiber ONTs with dedicated ports for LAN, VoIP, IPTV, etc.
