Network problems on the B550 motherboard
Latest drivers available. The oldest version is 1.0.0.xxx. You can find it here: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...ws-10.html. If that doesn’t work, check your BIOS settings. This update should fix the NIC card issue.
I saved it but the system reports missing Intel network links and no drivers were added. I have the latest BIOS version (around 14).
There are installation tools and software available for the network chip your board uses that could assist you. If the chipset drivers (not the LAN drivers) from Gigabyte aren't resolving the problem, a resource here might help. You'll need the correct chipset drivers for your onboard NIC to operate fully.
They mentioned they were working on a solution for that issue in their initial message. Checking the manufacturer's site with all board details and drivers shows they're using the Realtek ® 2.5GbE LAN chip (2.5 Gbit/1 Gbit/100 Mbit) as described.
Thanks in advance. I wasn’t able to check the site beforehand. I’d re-flash the bios, but if all drivers fail, I’d go with an RMA or use a PCI-E card and get the information online that way.
Several individuals report experiencing similar problems. Many suggest removing the CMOS battery, unplugging the device, and letting it discharge for about a minute before reinserting the battery and powering it back on. This process is often followed by waiting 30 minutes to an hour, then restarting the machine. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, alternative solutions are available. One option involves connecting your system remotely using our college-developed software, allowing both of us to access the computer simultaneously. I can inspect drivers, reinstall them if needed, and ensure full functionality while maintaining complete control throughout. Another choice is exploring a replacement motherboard or switching to a tested AMD board, such as the Intel NIC-based model available from ASUS. This board offers Intel networking capabilities and is priced similarly to your current setup.
Have you checked Windows Update? Is everything current except for one security patch (no internet connection)? Here’s a test link: https://www.realtek.com/en/component/zoo...s-software I downloaded the drivers but nothing worked. I installed them manually via Device Manager and even found separate driver files in the Windows folder. I also downloaded them separately. If you can locate a solution without using the internet, please let me know. I plan to try the CMOS adjustment and then bring it back. I’m considering swapping it with a board from MSI—it looks similar in price and parts.
I visited the store, they checked it, but it didn’t function. They replaced the board (same one) and tested it again; the network port was ready out of the box. Now I’m setting it up at home—no issues, the cable is fine. On my old system, a different driver caused problems. I’m trying to locate a suitable driver for BIOS upgrade and Ethernet.
