Hi everyone, I’m trying to figure this out. I just got my new 5800X CPU, 16GB RAM, and the B550 AORUS ELITE motherboard (rev. 1.0). The installation went through, but when setting up drivers everything worked fine except for a network issue. It seems the network adapter appears and then disappears—sometimes it shows up but never connects properly. I can’t find a cable, and it’s not working at all. After searching online, I found a fix for Realtek i225-V, but I don’t know how to apply it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Without personal experience, the main concern seems to be a driver problem. Start by attempting an update and then restarting your system. Obtain the latest LAN and chipset drivers from the manufacturer’s site and install them. Avoid using the older version that comes with the board’s disc. After that, restart your system and install the updated LAN driver. Finally, reboot again and check if the problem is solved.
I attempted that but it didn’t work. That’s what I did when configuring the PC. I’m unable to play RDR2 without an internet connection, and I also filed a support case with Gigabyte.
Next, I’d look into utilities and settings. I saw a tool named "Realtek Gaming LAN bandwidth Control Utility." Do you have it installed? You might want to disable or remove it. Sometimes motherboard tools can conflict with Windows. I remember having to uninstall a few from my older X99 Gigabyte board installation because they were causing problems. Specifically, @bios and easytune led to system freezes and significant slowdowns, forcing me to restart frequently until things stabilized. After removing those, the issues disappeared. Most of these tools claim compatibility with Windows 10 64-bit, but few mention support for Windows 11 or Windows 7. It’s possible they’re not updated for newer versions. If you followed all previous steps on Windows 11, try doing the same on Windows 10.
Also, I might have overlooked checking the connection first. Should I have tested the cable instead of trying another port or modem?
You might want to go back to the oldest LAN driver available on their site and test it. I observed that the latest versions seem to be newer than the one in the middle. The version numbers changed from 10.046 to 10.050 and then to 10.048, which could indicate they fixed some problems by reverting earlier releases.
