Hey, I'm stuck with an internet or network issue. When I search for something in any browser, the page says it can't find that site. But if I refresh a few times, it finally loads. It feels like one part of my computer is online and another isn't. If I try to install Java, which needs an internet connection, it will say "cannot connect." Then I keep trying a couple more times, and eventually, it works.

I was running a Minecraft server and had trouble connecting too. Any other game servers that host the same way have this problem too. It runs on two machines. And I don't even know why this happens to me. On one machine, I tried reinstalling Windows, but nothing worked. I also changed the firmware of my router, but it didn't help. I'm really out of ideas to fix this. Can someone please help?

It's very hard to find that website when something goes wrong with your computer's address book, called the DNS. Which phone numbers or house numbers do you use to look up this site?

It might mean your computer's router has the DNS set up for you. Check out the router settings instead. The router is likely using your internet service provider's DNS servers. Try switching to Google's DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) instead.

mixing cloudflare and google DNS is usually the best choice, especially if your regular internet provider's DNS works poorly or breaks things. If you run into trouble with non-government DNS services, just switch back to automatic DNS settings. I've even used this trick to go around some internet censorship. cheers
