Network issues preventing maximum performance.
Hi, your ISP increased your connection speed from 100Mbps to 250Mbps. Your PC tests showed 94Mbps download and 50Mbps upload, while WiFi performance was much lower—140Mbps download and 50Mbps upload on the Note 9. Both Ethernet devices displayed the same 94Mbps download but full upload speeds. Your CAT 6e cable appears to be working fine, and the router test confirmed this. It seems the issue might be with your network setup or device configuration. Upgrading the Ethernet cable could help if that’s the case. Let me know!
Are you certain the Ethernet cable is Cat 6? Verify your Ethernet settings by opening the Control Panel, then Network and Internet, and click on Network Connections. Double-click the Ethernet option to see the details. The maximum capacity of your cable will be displayed.
Well then I’d think the cable might be faulty because everything along the chain supports gigabit, but your port is running at 100Mbps. You should also verify that the port is set to auto negotiate. From the adapter screenshot earlier, go to Properties > Configure > Advanced Tab > Speed & Duplex.
It was on Auto. I switched it to 1gig full but didn’t notice any difference, so I went back to auto. Maybe I’ll need a new cable eventually—it’s about six years old.
