so im waiting for a wireless adapter to come and i have been "trying" to connect to the internet via Ethernet cable to my laptop and when i bridge the connections it stays on for a while but drops out. i also tried going into adapter settings and turning on shared connections and it comes up with the error in the trouble shooter... "DNS server not responding" and when i bridge the connections "default gateway not available" my room to too far away to connect via Ethernet

You can't just connect a WiFi client directly to Ethernet because standard client mode doesn't support specifying MAC addresses for traffic delivery. This means the connection only reaches the client without knowing its destination. WiFi bridges need specialized modes like WDS Access Point and WDS Client to handle that. Regular WiFi adapters have just one Ethernet port and forward traffic to the intended client, but internet sharing should work if the correct adapter is used. Double-check that you're using the right adapter for sharing.
