Check if the modem/router is handling the router duties properly. Determine whether the problem started recently or has always been present.

My configuration isn't brand new—it's been around for roughly six months and worked fine before. Yes, the modem is handling everything correctly.

The most recent time the Internet functioned smoothly was several years ago, before major outages or technical issues. When it began to fail, your immediate action was likely checking your connection, restarting devices, or contacting support.

It wasn't functioning correctly around 4 to 5 days ago, and I rebooted the computer.

It appears the issue is likely on the PC side, possibly due to a malfunctioning network adapter. Is this hardware integrated into the motherboard or do you have an external network card?

You can ask your dad's friend to walk you through the process or check the instructions together.

Check the areas where the cable connects to the PC; you should see indicator lights for both power and activity status. If integrated into the motherboard, they’ll appear elsewhere, while a network card will be positioned near the graphics slot.
