I was searching for alternatives and discovered this older discussion. It seems there were problems with DHCP tables and firewall NAT—insufficient memory or CPU caused parts of the software to reset or reboot, leading to network instability. This resulted in what appeared to be a complete network outage. As more devices connected, performance deteriorated rapidly. Before that, my setup worked perfectly with an Apple Airport + Express (Wireless N) and offered smooth speeds. I was really disappointed. Eventually, I replaced it with an ASUS-2900 (possibly A86) and have experienced no issues since 2017.
