It's been nearly a week with random internet drops on Ethernet only for short periods. Wi-Fi appears to be functioning properly during those times. I changed Windows after encountering other problems, but that didn't resolve the issue. Any suggestions?

No idea... but if you share your computer specs and router model, maybe it helps. Also, why would you turn on Wi-Fi when you have a cable connection? That can cause issues. Computers usually prefer one gateway at a time.

My computer isn't connected to Wi-Fi. It has an Intel I225-V Ethernet chip on the motherboard. I'm using a CAT 6 cable. The router is a basic digital switch DG-GR6821AC.

I prefer not to use standard flat Ethernet cables because they’re prone to breaking and losing reliability. I’d opt for a different type instead. That approach makes more sense, though it wasn’t mentioned before.

Flat Ethernet cables may face different problems. I’d consider a different cable first, if you can. Also, it’s worth noting that the specific Intel NIC has encountered some difficulties. You might want to follow the advice in this Reddit discussion if another Ethernet cable doesn’t fix your problem. Yes, I’ve checked the thread and found those steps helpful for tricky NICs. You can also visit Intel’s official site for more details.
