I recently assembled my own PC components below. But it sometimes loses Wi-Fi connection. No problems with any other gadgets, including my old office laptop. I tried a Wi-Fi extender for testing, but it didn’t improve the situation and I can still use a 100ft Ethernet cable without issues. However, my wife is upset about that. I’ve also verified all drivers are current. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Specs: Tuf Gaming B550-PLUS WIFI II EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Ryzen 5 5600X Corsair RM 750 Gold (stock cooler), 1TB SSD, plus two 8GB DDR4 sticks.

Factors such as the type of access point or router, any existing extenders, and their connections all play a significant role. Personally, I’d prefer using a wired connection and invest in hiding it to gain approval from my wife. Cabled Ethernet offers a much more reliable connection than Wi-Fi. However, without a clear understanding of these aspects, I’d recommend starting fresh—resetting the router or modem, adjusting PC settings, and testing again. Also keep in mind that connecting many devices simultaneously can cause more interruptions, especially if they’re not used as intensively.
What router model are you employing and its location in relation to your office? Which adapter is connected in your tower? I faced problems until I replaced my Wi-Fi card with an AC triple external antenna. Look for interference across channels, especially if you reside in a crowded neighborhood with many competing signals. For a 100-foot range, consider using a 2.4GHz card and verify the router settings to enable maximum transmission power for that frequency if possible. Powerline Ethernet is another option, though it may require a higher investment but can be effective. Keep in mind it needs to share the same electrical circuit for optimal performance.
