Network fluctuations occur unpredictably.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to resolve a problem where my internet speed fluctuates between 5-20 Mbps even though it should be stable at 120 Mbps via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. I've already checked several things: connected the modem directly to my computer and got the expected speed, swapped Ethernet cables and used different Wi-Fi devices, and updated the router's firmware—though it added new features without fixing the issue. It seems like the problem might be specific to how my router handles the connection. Do you have any suggestions or steps I should try before reaching out to ASUS support?
You're experiencing several issues: a faulty cable, throttling during peak hours, unstable network, a VPN filter virus on your router, and a possible lack of effort from your service provider. Contact them about these problems and explain that resolving them is part of their responsibility.
When using an ISP-supplied router, request a replacement. Otherwise, you may have to swap out the router entirely.
