Hey guys, work for a big company. I fix lots of computer stuff remotely for people lately. Recently, I found that about 30% to 50% of my help desk calls are stuck because they can't open a specific folder on the network. This folder is super important for our IT team, so it's getting messy fast. My sysadmins are too busy right now to check this stuff. When I try to access that drive, I get one of two errors: "Windows can't find \filepath" or "Windows cannot access \filepath". Our sysadmins said everyone in the group has full permissions for those folders. Since I'm just a help desk tech, my troubleshooting skills aren't great here. This is what I've tried so far: 1. The user went to another computer and had the same problem. Maybe it's something with their profile? 2. I deleted and recreated the user profile, but the problem stayed. 3. I opened File Explorer with admin rights, and it was still broken. 4. **I actually did copy the software using CMD in a command prompt. I typed the file path manually and moved the files to my tmp folder. The weird CMD thing can get me there, but not when I try it from File Explorer. Any ideas?**
You're probably in trouble if you need help with your IT team. Nobody here knows about how your networks are arranged. But most of the time, it's just a DNS problem. You'll have to call your IT people for that one too. That's all folks.
