I've noticed frequent performance drops and inconsistent updates from Rogers. Every time I reach out for help, they provide varying explanations. Recently, one rep mentioned it might be linked to more than 100 port forwarding rules. Do you think this could be contributing to the issue? It seems unusual for gigabit connections to face such problems—we only have the modem from Rogers. Modem model: Hitron CODA 4582U (trash)

It could definitely be due to limited power, but I'm not sure. Performance changes should be predictable. You mentioned many port forwarding rules—do you think the device runs bridge mode? That might require a more advanced router, especially with Gigabit speeds.

Bandwidth and speed are different from delay. Even with a fast connection, messages might still arrive slowly—300ms instead of instant. Speed can depend on how quickly the system responds. I’d think your issue is more about Port Forwarding than raw speed. If you’ve forwarded many ports, it could mean you’re running multiple servers. Try turning off all Port Forwarding to test. If the problem persists, there’s likely another cause.

I don’t understand why there are so many port forwarding rules. It might be someone else set them up. Most of them relate to Plex Media Server, possibly because UPNP is active. Thanks! Edit: Disabling all port forwarding didn’t resolve the issue.
