Hello! A few months back I bought a 1 Gbps internet connection and the installers set it up for me. I’m pleased with the speed I get. The ISP gave me a router/modem that seems quite basic, and I’d like to upgrade it. The model I received is the ZTE ZXHN F670L. Unfortunately, I can’t reach the device itself. I want to replace it. I bought a Netgate pfSense 2100 with an SFP WAN port. From what I understand, if I connect the fiber optic cable directly to the Netgate box, I’d need a transceiver that can convert the signal in both directions. When reviewing the router’s specifications, I’m unsure which factors matter most for smooth operation. Should I focus on wavelength stability? Optical power output or receiver sensitivity? The manual mentions an SC/APC PON interface, but the Netgate says SC/UPC PON. I searched fs.com for compatible transceivers and found these options:

I’m looking for a switch, but many brands like TP-Link, D-Link or Netgear are available. Should I choose one that’s managed? Do I need a PoE switch and what’s the difference? I really need some guidance! Thank you ahead of time.
Consider contacting the ISP's tech support to check for other devices connected directly via fiber. They might find a pairing method using MAC addresses or firmware features. If you have access to the device's management interface, disable wireless and switch it to passthrough, routing traffic through its Ethernet ports. Alternatively, ask the ISP if they can remotely set it up in pass-through mode.
Some regions use CGNAT by ISPs, which could explain your problem.
