Network Adapter Problems
I recently faced issues activating 5GHz Wi-Fi networking on the Qualcomm Atheros qca61x4a. My Asus Strix Z270e gaming laptop came with this device, but the option for enabling 802.11ac Wi-Fi wasn’t visible. I’ve checked the settings, updated the drivers, and even tried an older version, yet it didn’t work. The attached image shows my advanced configuration.
Usually you don’t need to turn anything on; it should automatically recognize any 5GHz Wi-Fi networks available. To confirm if the 5GHz connection isn’t functioning, check its status or settings.
Thank you for your prompt response! I haven’t connected to a 5GHz network yet, but I purchased a new router that supports 5GHz since the Lighthouse stations from my HTC Vive were causing interference with the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. As it’s set up by default, I’ll attempt to connect to 5GHz once the router arrives. I’ll update you if it works out.
Your device can generate a 5GHz Wi-Fi network, allowing you to evaluate its performance while the new router is being installed.
